RSMT Welcomes New BBA and BCA Students with Orientation Programme

The Rajarshi School of Management and Technology (RSMT), located in the U.P. College Campus, inaugurated its Student Orientation Programme for newly admitted BBA and BCA students in an enthusiastic and dignified atmosphere. The programme was organised with the objective of familiarising students with the institution and inspiring them towards academic excellence, ethical values, leadership, managerial and technical competencies, and social responsibility.

The programme commenced with the traditional ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by floral tributes to Goddess Saraswati and Rajarshi Udai Pratap Singh Judeo, the founder of the institution.

In his welcome address, Prof. (Dr.) Aman Gupta, Director-In-Charge, RSMT, said that today's students are not merely degree seekers but future responsible citizens, innovators and leaders of society. He encouraged the students to give special attention to discipline, continuous learning and overall personality development.

The Guest of Honour, Dr. Ankur Chadha, Unit Head and Publisher, Dainik Jagran, Varanasi, addressed the students and observed that in today's information-driven world, the major challenge is not the lack of information but the ability to identify and distinguish reliable and meaningful information. He urged students to critically analyse news, develop a positive outlook and use digital and mass communication platforms responsibly. He emphasised that effective communication skills are the first step towards success in any professional field.

The Chief Guest, Commander V. K. Jetly, delivered an inspiring and motivational address on the theme “Achieving the Next Level of Excellence.” He emphasised that there are no shortcuts to success and that discipline, excellence, continuous learning and a strong sense of commitment towards the nation are essential for young people to achieve their full potential.

Commander Jetly encouraged students to set clear goals, utilise their time effectively, develop leadership qualities and strive for excellence in every endeavour. He remarked that the future of India rests in the hands of its young generation and urged every student to ask themselves regularly what contribution they can make towards nation-building.

He further encouraged students to rise above limiting beliefs and conventional boundaries, emphasising that a person's true stature is determined not merely by their circumstances or background, but by their thoughts, aspirations and actions. He urged the students to dream big, set ambitious goals, continuously acquire new knowledge and remain committed to excellence.

Highlighting the importance of perseverance, Commander Jetly inspired the students to view failures as stepping stones towards success and to strive to become better versions of themselves every day. He stated that the India of tomorrow would be shaped not merely by academic degrees, but by courage, innovation, leadership and dedication to work. He encouraged students to treat every day of their college life as an opportunity to achieve a new level of excellence and develop personalities that would make their families, society, institution and nation proud.

The Honoured Guest, renowned Hindi litterateur Dr. Neerja Madhav, inspired students to remain connected with Indian culture, literature and human values. She emphasised that the harmonious integration of modern technology with Indian values and traditions is essential for developing a well-rounded personality.

Dr. Madhav observed that the degradation of language is not merely a distortion of words but may also reflect a decline in cultural awareness, sensitivity and thoughtful expression. She urged students to uphold linguistic clarity, dignity and sensitivity as an important responsibility of educated citizens.

Through simple and relatable examples, she explained the significance of Sanatan cultural values and emphasised that Indian culture is not merely a system of religious practices but a way of life that strengthens the bonds among family, society and the nation. She highlighted the role of values, traditions and ethical principles in character building and encouraged the younger generation to embrace these values while progressing with modernity, thereby preserving their cultural identity.

The Special Guest, Mr. Narendra Mehta, National Vice-President, Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), emphasised that in addition to technical knowledge, communication skills, teamwork, public relations and interpersonal behaviour are among the most important competencies in today's competitive professional environment. He encouraged students to develop trust, credibility and positive professional relationships, observing that these qualities would play a crucial role in shaping them into successful managers and IT professionals.

Prof. Manoj Kumar Singh, Coordinator, U.P. College Campus, in his motivational address, highlighted the educational vision of Rajarshi Udai Pratap Singh Judeo, who regarded education not merely as a means of acquiring knowledge but as a powerful instrument for nation-building, character development and social service. He encouraged students to incorporate values associated with Rajarshi Ji's life—including patriotism, discipline, service, cultural values, social harmony, ethics and excellence—into their conduct and emphasised their continued relevance in the contemporary world.

During the orientation programme, newly admitted students were also introduced to various aspects of institutional and academic life, including the academic system, curriculum, examination process, training and placement opportunities, research activities, innovation initiatives, startup culture, student clubs and institutional discipline. The session provided students with an overview of the opportunities and responsibilities associated with their academic journey at RSMT.

Dr. Preeti Singh, Coordinator, BBA, and Dr. C. P. Singh, Coordinator, BCA, expressed their gratitude to all the distinguished guests, parents, students and members of the organising committee for their valuable presence and contribution to the successful conduct of the programme.

The programme was efficiently conducted by Dr. Garima Anand.

The event was graced by the presence of Dr. D. K. Singh, Principal, Udai Pratap Autonomous College; Dr. Ramesh Pratap Singh, Principal, Udai Pratap Inter College; Dr. Anita, Principal, Rani Murar Kumari Girls' Inter College; and Ms. Sangeeta Kumar, Principal, Udai Pratap Public School.
